In creating the Alligator in the Students' town, Julian Tahov was inspired by the ancient cultures and jungles, by ancient themes of inexhaustible resources for artistic interpretations.
The columns and the stone walls amplify the mystical character of the author's suggestion. They walls are the transition to the central bar where our attention is attracted by the plastic stones on the floor covered with patina. There are two boxes around the central bar. A plastic stone wall with delicate wall reliefs and antique hieroglyphs, which is background for the blue upholstered furniture, is the gripping culmination of the designer's efforts. The whole interior shows culture and style in mastering the three dimensional space.
“The interior characterizes the people who live in it – the designer says. The company 's interior reflects the skills and goals of the people working there and this is where I begin thinking what kind of artistic means of expression I should choose. In this case I take into consideration the client –a young and ambitious attorney who has a serious and pragmatic expression showing adherence to principles. This is where my idea to use classical elements came from. In order to suggest the seriousness of the profession of a lawyer I emphasized the spirit of the new times with an exquisite panorama mirror, mirror profile frames which is also a composition centre of the wall facing the lawyer's desk. The panorama mirror facing the negotiation's table brings not only moderately exquisite but also a lot of light and volume. The brown colour with light brown shades on the walls are an elegant choice. They are combined with the libraries, the desk and the classical leather sofa in a warmer shade of the same warm colour range emphasizing once more the continuity of the tradition. “I chose the brown colour range”, the designer says, “because the warm colours have an active effect on us,they stimulate, and bring about an energetic mood. I emphasized the dynamic colours of the office by installing a grey wall panel, made out of plaster cardboard facing the lawyer's desk. Generally, light tones are active and people have captured the language of colours long ago and have ever since then been using it in creating symbolism in art.” The lawyer's office is a special case when it comes to applying the colour dynamics, and the designer has calculated and mastered very intelligently the colour construction and have achieved the impression of style, aesthetics, dynamics. The light has been specially considered and put in service to the client very elegantly and in a way to underline the more important details of the composition.
The fact that the rationally thinking young attorney has succeeded in turning his new attitude to the world around him in reality by the art he invested in is of great importance.
The interior is filled with a spirit of invention and is an achievement for its time.
